  • The Australian rice industry is located predominantly within the Riverina region of south-west NSW where up to 2,000 farm businesses grow rice as part of their farming system.   

  • Australia’s rice industry is considered one of the world’s most successful and efficient rice growing industries, delivering significant yields while leading the world in water use efficiency. The rice industry has an important role to play in food security with the capacity to produce 1 million tonnes of rice per year.
